So I just busted the master case of 2011 Topps Marquee tonight.  Had 2 MONSTER hits and a bunch of very, very good hits.  I will not be buying anymore of this – I know to quit when I am ahead – but man this was a fun break!

2011 Topps Marquee 12 Box Master Case

Look, I know this break was lucky.  I know that most breaks have no cards like the Hank Aaron or the Manny Pacquiao – besides getting both of them.

I am not happy with all of the redemptions though – we pulled 5 redemptions out of 12 boxes!  Are you kidding me?  What happens in 2014 when all these redemptions expire?  This product won’t be worth opening – many, many of the museum collection cards are redemptions too – who wants that?

Plus a lot of people were caught up in the hype when the allocations were slashed – they interpreted that as a scarcity of product.  I do not believe it was under produced (hence the autos to /606), I just think it was over-ordered.  I think when Topps realized it was ordered beyond the production, they cut orders and created a frenzy… everyone was thinking about 1984 Donruss all over again.  Well, all the collectors my age anyway!  :)

Still, this is a great product and I believe it is my greatest break ever.  The Aaron and Pacquiao are up there with my best pulls too.
